Rainbow Giving Australia has launched Sweat with Pride 2026 to raise critical funds for LGBTQ+ organisations.
Rainbow Giving Australia is the national LGBTQ+ community foundation, supporting community organisations by mobilising funding, providing grants, and helping grassroots initiatives.
The organisation piloted a new fundraiser in 2025, Sweat with Pride, which saw more than 1,700 participants raise $160,000.
The idea is simple: participants take on a 30-day movement challenge throughout June to raise critical funds for LGBTQ+ organisations.
This year, Rainbow Giving has partnered with ACON to deliver the campaign, with workplaces in particular encouraged to register teams.
Already, 500 people have signed on, with Marketing and Engagement Manager Jake Smith saying Pride Month was the perfect time to bring people together.
“It’s no secret that rainbow communities in Australia are under extra pressure right now and need our support,” he said.
“Sweat with Pride is a practical, joyful way to take real action.”
Each day, participants must move for 21 minutes, whether that is walking, running, wheeling, dancing, or even just playing with their kids.
Like other fitness challenges, people are invited to set a fundraising goal, share their page, and earn rewards for hitting key milestones.
“Every dollar raised helps strengthen the organisations and services LGBTQIA+ people rely on,” said Smith.
“I hope you’ll join us and make June count.”
LGBTQ+ organisations receive just 5c from every $100 donated to Australian charities, according to the Rainbow Resources report.
“The funds raised by the thousands of you taking part in June will help support ACON’s work delivering grassroots programs, designed by and for LGBTQIA+ people, that strengthen the health, connection, and wellbeing of our community,” said ACON CEO Michael Woodhouse.
Individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up now via the Sweat with Pride website, with the challenge running throughout June.
Rainbow Giving Australia has also partnered with TEAMM8 to offer three $100 gift cards for those who sign up by May 17.
