Former Spice Girl Mel C has released a new single ahead of her forthcoming ninth studio album, Sweat.

The track, What Could Possibly Go Wrong?, was created alongside Swedish hitmakers Klas Åhlund and Nea.

It’s the second single from the album, following the lead track Sweat, which peaked at number 19 on the Australian iTunes music chart.

Mel said she had a lot of fun creating the track and discussing the light and shade of music with the writers.

“It’s a tongue-in-cheek look at taking risks and trusting yourself to take that leap anyway,” she said.

“I think a lot of you will relate!”

The single arrives ahead of Sydney’s Mardi Gras festival, where Mel C will perform a DJ set at Poof Doof on Saturday, February 28.

Poof Doof is set to take over the entire Ivy precinct for the night, which will also feature DJ sets from drag queen Bimini, as well as Ty Sunderland, Absolute., Cormac, Michael Gray, Panging Heals, Torren Foot, GG Magree and Jimi The Kween.

Also out with new music today are Rogue Traders, who have released their first single in 15 years.

Take You Down is described as “the first strike of the Midnight Alarms era”, with the band saying they wanted to keep it loud.

“We didn’t come back to play it quiet. This track will EAT YOU.”

The Rogue Traders will also be seen in Sydney during Mardi Gras, having been announced as the latest act for Mighty Hoopla.

Hoopla will take over Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Saturday, February 21, with international acts including Kesha, Jamelia and Becky Hill, alongside homegrown talent Jessica Mauboy and Delta Goodrem.
