Diana Ross is on her way back Down Under to headline the Sydney Summertime concert series.

The Upside Down singer is returning to Sydney for the first time in over two decades for her only Australian performance.

The performer will bring Diana Ross Freedom in Motion to Centennial Park, thanks to Black Peach Touring, for an exclusive one-night-only concert on Friday March 5, the eve of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

Ross rose to global prominence as the leader of The Supremes, shattering records with hits like ‘Where Did Our Love Go’, ‘Stop! In the Name of Love’ and ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’.

As a solo artist, she continued to break boundaries with timeless classics including ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, ‘Upside Down’ and ‘I’m Coming Out’.

“Diana Ross is an absolute icon, and to have her choose Sydney Summertime for her only Australian show, one night only in Centennial Park, on the eve of Mardi Gras is exactly the kind of unforgettable moment we created this series for. It’s going to be something very special,” said Black Peach co-founders and directors Jessica Ducrou and Elise Huntley.

Minister for Tourism Steve Kamper said Ross was the kind of performer people would travel to see, and the show was bound to be a powerful tourism driver for the state.

“To have an international superstar of her calibre headline Sydney Summertime for an Australian-exclusive performance is a major coup for NSW,” he said.

“Events like this are a powerful driver of tourism. They bring more visitors to our state, generating economic benefits for local businesses and jobs, and reinforce NSW’s reputation as a destination for world-class live music and entertainment.”

Joining Ross for an exclusive Australian set will be acclaimed British duo Groove Armada. The hitmakers behind ‘I See You Baby’ will perform a DJ set on the night.

More special guests are yet to be announced for the all-ages concert, with dedicated Youth Tickets available for those aged 13 to 27.

Pre-sale tickets for the Diana Ross: Freedom in Motion concert go on sale next Monday, with general public tickets available from Wednesday November 11.
